instead of a Bavaria 47, that is not in fleet anymore, we got a Bavaria 50. This oatw as bigger and same draught, so a good replacement! The boat was in good shape, especially under the respect of it´s age (10 years), but some problems appeared:
electrical anchorwindlass broke down, maybe a battery problem, some windows were leaking (which we were informed before), RPM-indicator , engine hour indicaor speed indicator: these instruments were not working. There was no 2nd rope for the anchor, which we needed all the time caused by 20-40kn wind in the nights at anchorages. The Marinero was very good, a very good cook, he knew the area very well, had good contacts to local fishermen and Marina, helped at anchoring. It´s recommended to take a Marinero on board. |

Ceny ją bardzo przystępne, wasza agencja również bardzo dobra
dziennik pokładowy jest bardzo stary
Na kubańskim wybrzeżu na wschód od Cienfuegos trochę brakuje marin z prawdziwego zdarzenia (dobra jest tylko w Trinidadzie) - ale to nie wasza wina. |

odpowiadając na pytanie "Jak podobał nam się rejon po którym żeglowaliśmy?" - Jacht był dobry i dzięki niemu poznaliśmy kilka uroczych miejsc i chcielibyśmy zwiedzić jeszcze więcej (może na jachcie od was?) |

The basemanager is very kind and helpful, doies more, than he is obliged to do (ordering Taxis,assistance to find a Hotel asf),he speaks excellent german. The boat was a Bavaria 50,furling mainsail. By that reason it was not sailing well upwind, even the new sails helped nothing. But all was ok and well functioning. The wooden interior was creaking all the time, so even non-sensible sleep was disturbed whilst on anchorage. Laster the chartercompany confessed, that this problem was known and repairs of interiors was on the todo-list already.
Checkout was trustfull and easy, but absolutely correct and sufficient.
For sailing with the Spinacker, more than the only 2 winchhandles on board would be needed.
The sailing area makes it necessary to tack on one part of the desired cruise, but this boats are not good enough for that, so we had to use the engine partially.
For tourists Cuba is extremely beautiful and pretty reasonable prices! |

We are in Cuba. Considering the situation, it is astonishing, how good the basecrw of the base maintains all the things to do. The Marina is not perfect (the showers are still under rconstruction, since 7 months) but the boat was considered to it´s age very nice maintained and in very good condition - some small problems are always. (the speedindicator was not mounted, the signal kit expired or the sheets, which were to thick for the jam cleats, but that´s not the primary thing.
The ordered transceiver was there, but not functioning. Same with the mobile GPS-unit :-) But ok - that´s Cuba.
Service at the base was friendly and helpfull. Checkin was good and detailed. Checkout not complicated, but they did not take it too easy!
Officials and local authorities are complicated, but alloverall without problems. Transfers to and from the base were organized well. The sailing area is very beautiful. One should better have 2 weeks time, because the first and last day are long. Until one reaches the beach and snorcheling needs a long time. Playa Serena is wonderful. I can recommend Cuba, especially land and people and discovering Havana very well! See pictures at www.fahrnholz.de |
