Electrical toilets, generator, heater (we didn't need it in Summer). Good speed - in a wind 20 knots you can go with fully open sails. 2 scewed rudders turn sailboat near on the spot, perfect maneuvring. Everything functioned Ok and nothing was broken (usually something happends with beginners). This is cruising sailboat, comfortable for rest and taking sunbathes. But jib is too small on cruising sailboat - it was not good for Regatta. During check-out I told about stuck toilet - but nobody charged anything for it. Check-out was very facile - only hull was checked. Next time I'll take the same boat for holiday. There are not enought tools on board - there where no big screwdrivers and no spanners at all. Fixation of traveller of the luff is incorrect, tap screws are screwed from down to top, unscrew down on the wind and go out. I found freeplay in the fixation of the hawshole of main anchor too late, it wasn't anything to fix, so we used rope to fix it, and had to pay for the repair later. Sometimes GPS didn't work, I had to repair antenna by myself. When we were leaving, alarm (SOS) started to give signal, we had to switch off VHF and GPS for a while. Sometimes echo-sounder showed something strange - 7-8 meteres instead of 70-80 throught the chart. Water didn't go out well in one of showers. Sometimes anchor winch became jammed, at the end of trip electric preventer worked all the time we used anchor winch, what was really dangerous in the strong wind. There were not enought fenders on board - we will be glad if we have 4 more, because moorings in Greece sometimes are really difficult. Marina Alimos is very crowded, it is difficult to moor there for beginners. Service in marina is awfull - only 2 toilets and showers, and they are working only from 8:00 till 20:00. But all the other was wonderfull. Very kind staff of chartercompany, very responsive owner of the boat, the boat is super-clean, tidy, and everything is well organized. Sails, winches, engine, Dinghy, emergency equipment are Ok. Good service of charteragency, especially your Russian representive (Maria) - I want to say thank you to her for detailed and pationed explanations of all the details of charter. My desire: can you include insurance service at the package of charter - because it is really difficult to transfer money from Russia to German company via bank transfer. That's all. The only problem we had - second anchor didn't hold well. Another problem - filter in the shower was stuck, but we called to charter base, and they in 5 minute explained us how to clean it. Speaking about charterbase at all - I inspected few boats at the base, including the eldest ones, and couldn't find any problems or damages. All sailboats are in very good condition, they do maintenance on land every winter for all the boats. Stars" (6=very good, 1=very bad) praise and criticism Following to a charter in 2008, this was our 2nd experience with NOMICOS in Athens. The year before, we werde very satisfied by an excellent organized charterbase. We were impressed by 3 emloyees, who each had their own special knowledge (engine,pantry,cabins etc) and could achive a checkin without any delays! But on Oct 3rd of this year, we got only a pretty superficial checkin from an employee, who gave us several defintely WRONG informations. However - as we pointed detected lacks, these were repaired immediately. The boat, a Beneteau built 2009, had a several unexpected technical weaknesses for such new boat, e.g. the buttons of the gasoven, furthermore the outside shower, the not fixable drawers etc. The size of the PIER /pontoon of NOMICOS was not fitting the amount of incomingbats, so the checkins were bundled in groups. The chartercompany informed us, that some chaotic situations were caused by an extreme concentration of returns and new checkins because it was the first weekend of the cheaper low season. Counted alltogether, the sailing area and the chartercompany are still recommendable. There were 2 or 3 problems, that could only be found after leaving, e.g. water pressure pump, jam cleat,...). But nobody hat time for that. Finally, at the gas station, the balancing was not correct, we estimate 10-20% more was balanced! About surcharge for filling the tank: we are not able to control the situation at the gas-station, this is not our gas station. If the boats are returned without refilled tank, and we have to do that, there is a surcharge as in every car rental as well for the srvices. It is recommended, asked and usual to fill the tank before return to the base.
